Dr. Vi's Journey: From Exhaustion to Holistic Dentistry

Spotify Apple Podcasts Castbox PocketCasts YouTube

As morning blurred into yet another sleepless night, Dr. Vi stood at the edge of exhaustion. For eight years, she endured severe insomnia and persistent health problems that defied explanation by conventional medicine. The cause was both invisible and intimately personal: her breast implants. Realizing this connection changed everything for her, prompting not only a recovery from mysterious symptoms but a reconsideration of her approach to dentistry. She began to prioritize whole-body health and moved toward a more authentic, patient-centered practice.

The hidden enemy: a personal battle

For nearly a decade, Dr. Vi lived in a constant state of fatigue, as if perpetually jet-lagged in her own life. Insomnia stole her sleep six nights a week, and other symptoms, persistent bloating and unexplained skin lesions, left her searching for answers. Medical tests offered nothing but normal results, while skepticism from other doctors left her feeling isolated. Still, she trusted her body enough to keep searching for the truth. Over time, suspicion turned toward her breast implants, once considered harmless, now believed to be causing harm. Removing them marked more than a step toward healing; it was an act of self-respect and trust in her own instincts. That experience reshaped how she listened to her patients as well, inspiring her to look beyond obvious symptoms to the quieter signals that bodies send when something is wrong.

Dentistry beyond drills: embracing biological approaches

This experience led Dr. Vi to rethink traditional dentistry’s boundaries. She moved away from routine drill-and-fill procedures and adopted biological endodontics, an approach that considers oral health as part of overall wellness. She uses modern tools like lasers and ozone in endodontic treatments to minimize harm; lasers help eliminate bacteria deep within the tooth and can reduce pain after procedures by supporting natural healing. She also supports regenerative options such as platelet-rich fibrin (PRF), allowing the body’s own healing abilities to play a larger role and sometimes providing an alternative to traditional root canals. In her practice, she considers connections between dental problems and systemic health, referencing principles like the meridian system that link mouth and body in ways conventional approaches may overlook.

Whole-body wisdom: a lifestyle transformation

The shift wasn’t limited to her practice, it shaped her daily life as well. Dr. Vi incorporates functional nutrition at home, using food as an essential part of healing. Her mornings start deliberately, with mindset training followed by a detox drink of lemon water and salt. Exercise and regular sauna sessions are mainstays, along with time spent barefoot on grass, a way for her to stay grounded both literally and emotionally. These habits are not merely routines but core parts of who she is; they sustain her work as a dentist, help define her role as a mother, and support her commitment to long-term health. For Dr. Vi, prioritizing wellness isn’t just a personal project, it’s evidence that lasting change is possible when health becomes the foundation of daily living.
